Very interesting car (but what a horrible web site - corvetteforum.com!)

Dang, what a piece of history. I know the price is high, but go find another ZR-1 that raced LeMans...

Wow, interesting piece of LT5 history. But that price...... yikes!! I get that it's a Rippie build, has race history ( it did get fielded at Le Mans ) and one probably couldn't build that car today for $380k. But damn, I could buy like 15 C4 ZR-1s, or about 5 C6 ZR1s, or maybe 2 C7 ZR1s for that amount of money

It is intriguing to wonder how well the ZR-1 could have done if GM decided to make a real racer out of it. I get it was more of a GT car then a full sports car, but I bet it could have made a good showing on 1990. Plus, can you imagine how good a factory racing LT5 would have sounded?

Gonna take some heat here...
Lotsa $ for "an old race car"
Of course all of us here love it and appreciate it's "provenance", but...

There's lots of "old race cars", even ones with "provenance", parked behind gas stations with weeds growing up thru them... Fortunately, this ain't one of them.
