What thoughts have you regarding mounting? I'm guessing you probably won't repeat the MF scheme, huh?

I guess one could easily fab up a flat "L" bracket with a slot in it for adjustment height. Maybe weld a flat tab to the back of the muff that juts up between the outlets far enough above the muff to accomodate a bolt welded to the tab. The threaded shank of the bolt would fit into a slot of a mating "L" bracket that would then fit into the stock hanger...or something like that...thinking out loud.

Can't wait to see your dyno runs with that change only, especially since our exhaust systems are identical, at the moment.

Question, Dom: Is your TB a 63mm or stock?

I have access to some plates, and I'm thinking about a winter project, along the lines of opening mine up. But, if yours is available, I'd rather practice on yours!

For mounting, I'm thinking Al has that figured out. I looks like it would be easy enough to weld a stud onto the body of the muff and then a stock L bracket mounting. Our exhausts are a bit different since I am using 1 7/8" Watson headers v the 2" SW on your car. I don't think this would produce an appreciable difference. At least Marc doesn't think so.
Yes, I am using a 63mm TB. I don't have a spare TB. Stock one was sold some time ago.

Dom,

Thanks for posting the cool photos. I have the same questions like PW about how to mount these mufflers when I also see the angle of the B&B that I would cutoff as well as the tips are are angled. I don't have access to a pro like Al and will have to hire some shop here and it will be very expensive (probably more than the parts or an exhaust system). I wondered about the bolt too or a bracket.

Do you mind posted or PM the center to center measurement of the dual outlets? I am looking for tips now. I really like the SW tips but very expensive at $88 each and needing 4.

Thanks,

Craig

Craig,

The tips are 5.5" c-c. Look at Dr. Gas for tips. About $40 ea.

Sounds good Cliff. I'm sure it sounds even better in person. What idle speed is that? Mine sounds best at 750RPM, but the darn rattle from the SM aluminum flywheel so it was bumped up to 900.

I found 3 in stainless pipe pretty cheap and I have a friend who is a pro who can install it.. just so I got it straight , 3in is better and the X pipe ( magnaflo) will replace the resonator? and it is 3 in..?
Will it be an issue to go from the factory exhaust 2 3/4 to the 3 in X pipe and make a connection? ( i'll do the OBX headers later ) , & I noticed the polished mufflers are cheaper , that seems backwards .. also what length exhaust tips are usually used? I see the muffler says 2 1/2 exits and the tip says 2 1/2 will that slip fit correctly? Well I guess that enough dumb questions for this evening.. Your wisdom are greatly appreciated..Thanks
Just wanted to let you know that we might not want the Dynomax 17519. Even though polished I read somewhere that it does not flow anything like the 17228 and also not welded so that is why cheaper I think. I sent an email to Dynomax to ask a bunch of questions, but no response as they get a lot I'm sure so I will call later when I have the time in the right time zone. I'm passing on 17519 and probably get 17228 since welded and their catalog does not give any specs about the 17519 other than size. I wanted a little bling because I'm replacing the polished B&B, but rather have the power and sound over the bling.
