Exactly! But which one(s) and which filters? For example: A light meter with sensitivity skewed toward ultra-violet or infrared would record readings that are meaningless to the evaluation. Not good. We would need qualified direction with regard to selecting the proper filters to keep the measured light values relevant to the eye, doanchaknow: a formal test, is what I'm talking about.

Lots of smart people on these boards. Maybe someone can shed some light on these (and/or other) particulars?

But, in the mean time, we can make some contacts and see if we can get some samples from the various manufactures OR individuals OR ??

It would be interesting, and I suspect many would like to see an objective & relevant set of results defined in terms not skewed this way or that (by accident, ignorance, or design...as the case might be). Something credible that would be recognized in academia as passing muster relative to the evaluation itself and results relevant to most human eyes.

To Hib's point, it has the potential of being an expensive experiment; especially for an individual. However, there may be ways to get around some of that: colleges, or individual professors and the like, students too, manufacturers, etc...

Santa dropped off a pair under the tree last night.
His note said he installed a set on sled this year after Rudolf's nose gave up and was quite impressed and couldn't be happier.

santa left me two hid headlight kits with led angle eyes from corvette mods. wife ordered headlight kit, 55 watt ballast upgrade, angle eye lenses etc... installation does not seem too bad. My HID fog lamps are great. Used them the other night as headlights and lit up the night.

Hello Hib,
Check your email for the weight of the Cebies. I emailed it to you a couple of weeks ago, i think the weight of one of them was 1lb &13oz.
