I am sure he was just busy because he has an excellent reputation. I will try again down the road.

But will the stock chip solve the 1st. gear to 4th problem? What is a good source?

yes,it does cancel the 1-4 shift idiocy, and lowers underhood temperature, resulting in slightly more power..it also improves the idle quality...any gm dealer should be able to order it for you...i dont know the part number, but the description should say AYBK,or something similar, and was part of a service bulletin issued from gm,for customers complaining about bad idle and lack of power when hot..im no zr-1 guru, but it did make my car happy

The only way to address the 1 4 thing is to disconnect the wires from the sensor or have a tuner disable it in the calibration, same with the fan on temps. Tyler |

i bought this improved calibration after reading mark haybeck`s site...my car`s 1-4 shift was disabled after installing the new calibration.as mark said it would..you can read the results on mark`s site under calibration for 1990..imo,its the best bang for the buck, for a stocker....mark also said 10%more torque because of more consistent underhood temperature, although i never mentionned the fans...jmo,anyway

I was planning on buying Mark's chip. Is there anything to do other than opening the ECM and changing chips?
