Well I've been doing the exact thing I shouldn't be doing, (as car guys do) looking at c6zr1 LOL .....the Allure is great with this one! I'm trying to hold out in order to keep the C4 zr-1. If I can just hold out another 6 months I can have them both. Just got to keep telling myself that over and over and over

I been looking at C6 ZR1's as well....Prices for some are just as expensive as used C7 Z06's...Since you have allready had the C7 I guess you will get a better understanding of the C6ZR1 if you get a chance to drive one..

Those cars when new were just very expensive,115-122,000 and this was close to ten years ago...

Glad the OP is keeping his car. The question of value for cars of this age is always problematic because there is a tipping point that happens when the car migrates from "performance" car to "collector" car. For example, C2s - all of them - are now in the collector car realm. The value of any C2 is determined by originality and condition. Any modifications - regardless of how expensive the modification are - detract to the value of the car. The valuation is thus starting with the value of a virgin original car and subtracting the cost of returning the car to original.

When cars are new, modifications tend to increase the value of the car if tastefully done (per the new buyers definition of taste). The only exceptions to these rules seems to be when a well know modifier (like a Yenko for older Chevies or a Lingerfelter for more modern cars) turns these cars into something historically significant when the cars were still new. Race cars that have documented history also seem to be worth more with their modifications. It remains to be seen when C4 ZR-1s take that step from performance car to collector car.

Ya I've had a c7z06 so I'm assuming power level is very similar. I'm also sure the c7z is an "upgrade or update" in virtually every way.....but.... with that being said I think the c6zr1 is a much more "special" car and a flavor I haven't tasted yet soooo.... we gonna have to have one😁

Agreed! I think it may be some time before they cross that line, at least in my eyes they are still more of a performance vehicle

MAN OH MAN! What a back and forth. I set down and talked to the wife tonight about my struggle deciding what do on c4z/c6zr/both and as usual....she is correct. She said I need to choose, not both. Her exact words were "you only have one azz, why 2 cars". And she is right, I went through this when I had my viper and c7z06, I end up ignoring one and it just becomes garage art. .......she's right 😢.
On a positive note, she gave me the "approval" as my Christmas gift on the c6zr1.
So it looks like I really have to make a decision on this. I know I've been back and forth on this guy's and I appreciate your understanding with me basically "thinking out loud", this is the process most of us go through when we're deciding what to keep what to sell, new toys, I'm just doing it out loud on the Forum. This is a really really tough one guys🤔
