I built mine from some 16 ga. aluminum sheeting - folded into an oval with the seams held by pop-rivets. ![]() Prior to drilling and putting in the rivets, I slipped the sleeve into the accordion and then expanded the sleeve for a snug fit, and then drew a line on the inside of the sleeve, along the under lapped edge. The seam is a bit crude, but functional AND not visible. (If I had a TIG welder, it could have been almost seamless. That would be the bee's knees, but I digress...) In addition to the support of the accordion tube, by extending the sleeve under the lip of the plastic filter air box, the lip becomes sandwiched between the sleeve and the hose clamp/accordion tubing. This serves in eliminating the annoying habit of the accordion slipping off of the filter box. (AND, for good measure, a sheet metal screw or two can be installed after drilling trough the bottom side of the hose clamp/accordion, filter box lip, and into the sleeve underneath it all to secure all those pesky joint members - the hose clamp included! ![]() "Nourishment for contemplation" ![]() P.
