Re: Gone to the Dark Side
The car ran great a Mason Dixon-Dragway. The best 1/4 mile ET was 12.158 at 121.94.(uncorrected) with my son driving. He was getting better every run but we ran out of time. We were running drag radials. On the 12.158 run, he was shifting at >7000rpm and he crossed the line in third gear. The car has a stock differential. 60' time was 2.05 sec.
I am very pleased with the car except the shifter is a lot "looser" than my Quasar Blue. I never miss shifts in the QB, but I did some 2nd to 5th shifts in the Black car. So until I can replace the shifter, I will be doing some retraining and practicing at BG. I am looking forward to a great day at the track. See you there. Jim |

Re: Gone to the Dark Side
I've always run 1-2mph slower at Mason Dixon than I have at BG, in spite of the much higher temps at BG. So I'm interested to see (well, hear really) what it does at the Gathering. That thing really hauls
Watching it run reminded me of racing Ron's LSV. Once it's about a 1/4 of the way down the track, it just really takes off. It looks to have tremendous ability to run cars down, though there were some fast cars out at Mason Dixon this last time.
