It looks better now, but I'm not posting more pics until I have the '90 wheels installed, should be done this week.

My car is so quiet, they wouldn't even blink. Now that I have the wheels I wanted, hopefully I can do the exhaust sometime soon.

Perfect opportunity, then!

Of course, you know I'm just joking about all of this… but it reminds me of a kind of funny story a good friend told me about (at least the first half)…

In his late teens, he lived in a city in So. Cal. just north of the LA basin (1970s), not too far from Vandenburg. He had acquired a Mercedes sedan, in which he and a friend built and installed a V8 putting out descent HP for its day. They would cruise the boulevards, do burn outs, stir up things, etc.

Well, one day he decided that his rear tires were about done, but he didn't want to waste good rubber. So he power-braked a stationary burn-out... for minutes... on a neighborhood street. White smoke rose profusely as the engine roared and the tires spun. He said, "but, when a lady came out of her house with a baseball bat towards us, we figured it was time to leave."

As they drove away, they noticed the street was on fire.

He ended up loosing it on another day, flying over a rise doing way over a hundred on the back roads of the desert. Providence was watching over him, as he ended up with a only few scratches. But the Merc was inverted, pouring gas out of a line and totaled.

Fortunately, he turned out to be simply an outstanding individual. Probably the most astute, mechanically minded, practical engineer and leader-type people person I've ever met.

Mark,

If you plan on selling the sawblades I am interested.

Thanks,
