Hi Dom, you may want to think about powdercoating the hats and inner veins of the rotors, they rust up pretty quick. What are your thoughts on protecting the polish of your calipers as well as the purple Corvette decal? Looking forward to when she is all put 2gether, great job!

Not sure bout the PC, but I did ask the guy who did the polishing about "clear" on the calipers. He recommended not doing it saying it would yellow and dull the luster. Could also end up as a wrinkle finish. I'm assuming the decals will last but they are cheap enough if I need to replace them. I'll be looking to test fit the calipers this weekend if I get the Z back from Al in time.

I'm also not a big fan of clearing polished alui. because of the exact reason stated. I for one would just rather touch them up when needed.

Rick,
He also said they would clean up easily. Can use something like Windex on them.

Yesterday over at Al's, we had a chance at mocking up the fitting of the C6Z calipers. The 14" rotor makes the use of an adapter mandatory so that's on order. Bolting the C6Z caliper directly to the spindle doesn't provide the needed "flying height" for the caliper over the rotor. So much for keeping the caliper down low on the rotor. Also got a pair of StopTech SS braided lines for the front brakes. The current Brembo lines use a fitting on the caliper and not the typical GM banjo bolt.
