I do like the sound of Pete's and the rest of the guys Exhaust systems, but due to my ear issues I have been having, I am not about to change it and regret the drone.. or risk having permanent damage to my ears..

Re: Finally Heads are Done
Yep that is the dreaded rattle alright - just a soon as you let off the clutch it starts.
No doubt you have to just put a deaf ear to it all and just accept that it is what it is. Now I see some of you have made it much better with the tune-new injectors and different tranny oil. So I guess that you can make it better with a bit o work and fluid choice. This is good indeed. How about a vid with good sound from one of you who have achieved this goal so we can have a listen to your tamed rattle beast.

Re: Finally Heads are Done
I had the rattle on my 89 with the Fidanza flywheel and even being a blck tag it did not sound as loud as Polo-1's video. The rattle on my 89 was more subtle then that

Re: Finally Heads are Done
This is a vid of my ZR idling after ported heads and Pete intake cams installed. Near end of vid I place the camera on the plenum to illustrate vibration at idle.
I did quite a bit of additional tuning after this which is now incorporated in the tune I sent to GC. We'll see how it works. BTW, idle here is at 750-825rpm. [IMG][/IMG] Last edited by XfireZ51; 02-04-2012 at 04:30 PM. |

Re: Finally Heads are Done
I should say that's a 402 with SCG stage 2 intakes and 1 exhuast cams. With a little cam the motor start to make the tranny rattle...
