that disk is not a factory option, could be an alarm...also looks like a n20 kit piece. let us know what the previous owner says

it is supposed to be two cup holders. One would normally have a circular removable ashtray and the other a circular rubber thing for securing a soda can I guess.

Yep... Demps is correct, KD40 Laser/Radar detector....found this located under the front plate...
