LantanaTX, if the car has 4.10 rear gears doing 70-75mph you'll be fine. Try and keep the RPM's above 1800. The NPP flappers do not eliminate drone just cut it down to maybe half. Pete

Re: Exhaust thoughts??
Drone can be mitigated in a few ways. You'll find that if the motor is running "fat" or rich, you'll get more drone. It also happens when MAP is
increasing as in a slow acceleration or going up an incline. When decelerating or steady pedal the motor is very quiet. The NPP valves are very good but the issue has been that they vary the opening w vacuum. That's why mike100 and myself have been playing w ways if keeping the valves closed regardless of variation in the vacuum signal.

How about the db level in theaters nowadays? I have to cover me ears on the previews. I'm afraid they'll start bleeding. In between the previews when it to total silence I like to say out load "they need to turn it up a bit". I do absolutely agree, it is very much subjective. I don't drive my car so much for others to hear outside. I drive it for the seat-of-the-pants feels. I had enough drone(resonance) in the 70s to last a lifetime.

Re: Exhaust thoughts??
I haven't installed my Fusions yet but am wondering how they are going to work with the stock exhaust system.

Re: Exhaust thoughts??
I just removed the stock set-up from the new to me 93, after driving it 600 miles home and not hearing anything but quite! I put the Flowmaster catback I took off my 91 on it this week and love the sound. not very loud no drone just sounds like a Corvette.

Re: Exhaust thoughts??
Hey guys, As mentioned above, I will be a new owner next Saturday when I pick up my '91 with the B&B cat back on it. My last car was a 2004 Chrysler Crossfire that I put a Mercedes V8 into. In the Crossfire world we had problems with drone. After some experimenting, I ended up with an awesome sound and no drone. I used an Ansa single in dual out muffler. it wasn't overly loud but got everyone's attention because it sounded so good. It actually sounded like a sporty Ferrari which made sense since Ansa is made in Italy and they were an OEM supplier to Ferrari. Just thought I would share this in case no one has thought of Ansa. I used my own custom tips welded to the muffler.

That would be great. If I had known you could have brought them up last week. Let me know if I can come get them or if you want to bring them up.

But, back to the SW X pipe, I believe they offer (or did for a while) an X pipe with a "cheese grater" liner, intended to quiet drone a bit in lieu of the resonator the X pipe replaces. I wonder if anyone here has tried that version, and if so, what their thoughts might be? Power Sticks makes a (3") stainless steel bullet type muffler, again with the "cheese grater" lining. Initially, I intended to replace the (nasty) stock 90 resonator with them, but I sold them unused to Lee, after hearing Pete and Bob G's cars with the NPP and hearing the really nice "big V8 rumble" (and noting their track times at the strip(s) too!). But, I remain curious about the sound they would have made.
