Thanks for your help, guys. I never imagined when I posed my simple question about bolt size in the starting post for this thread that I'd learn so much about brake upgrade options. Never in my wildest dreams did I think the thread would have gone on so long.
Oh well, surprises like this are good. For the record, I went to a rather unique place here in Charlotte called Atlantic Steel to purchase the needed bolts and washers indicated in WVZR-1's reply. I was able to get all of the socket head bolts in grade 12.9 steel. They had to cut the 30MM and 50MM ones from 60MM original length, though, as they did not have those two sizes in stock. (The did have the 40s) Needless to say they did a much better job with their machines than I could have done with a hacksaw and grinder. We now have most of the necessary parts for the upgrade, so soon the fun will begin. Thanks again. |
