So what happens when you pull it out, swap heads, button it up and it still smokes since you are leaving the bottom end alone?

i still say, build the spare block..

No holes, not warped, if I recall the valve guides are new...so a clean up and check them over, should be good to go.

No I am going through the block.....I will use the existing one in the car as the pistons and liners and in good shape.

No, if you recall the one from #702 ate a screw and chipped some of the liners and pistons....as the liners generally do not wear, I am assuming they are in better shape in #966.

Ah yes I remember now. I just figured while it was out you would take a look at the rotating assembly.
