One thing you need to keep in mind here, the ZR-1 owners are a tight knit group of people, when theres a question, somebody ALWAYS has an answer. When I need a part, somebody ALWAYS knows where to find it or get a part that will do the job.Your not doing yourself any favors here by alienating yourself. You have a car here that doesnt need alot of attention but will need maintenance from time to time and you will have question for as long as you own that car.If you choose to leave, thats on you but you wont benefit from it in the slightest. Now,all the talk about the Japanese this and that,I know nothin about that stuff,no interest.Feel free to stick around, the ZR-1 owner is a hardcore Corvette guy that is passionate about the car and is more than willing to help out an owner.Last summer there was an owner that was sick and needed help replacing the injectors before his car would make the trip, several thousand miles to his home. The guys on this site pulled together, got the job done and made it happen. If you choose to leave,C-Ya but you are more than welcome to stick around.

I like your enthusiasm about your Z we like those types here you will notice most here are just as enthusiastic and eager to help a brother.
Stick around for a while.
With your enthusiam and this forum you will be an LT5 expert before you know it.

Sit back crack open a beer and bring on the questions.

Doug, There is a How To page on the ZR1NET webpage.
I don't see a link to the home page of the ZR1NET page so here
is one directly to the How T0s:

First how old are you was that a teper tan tram on the internet? you brought up political feelings never do that it doesnt work you get all fired up and pissed off no reason to do that, thats one reason why I do not get wraped up in to many things on the internet that im really serious about politics and religion to much BS goes on about that.

You have your feelings and thats fine don't go to IL theres a number of people that can work on it.

Hey Have fun working on it but be sure to get the special tools to do so.
I have the ones I need and made a few as well.

Just a War vet with a Vette who doesn't like the crap thats happening now but I was In Iraq the last time I voted and it wasnt for obama my squadron of MV-22s even flew his *** around and thats why I really dislike the guy he had no respect for the military, But Ill still use Mark Hiebeck if I need him.

You should be able to do most of the work on your motor yourself its just some situations require special tools so look in to that.

Too funny.
I just love it.

Won't spend money in the USA but has no problem giving it to China,Japan etc. i.e. the PC he used to post here, the TV he watches FOX on. lol

I could add more but just let this simmer for a while
Think before you speak otherwise you could look like a hypocrite.

PS
I never owned a Toyota.

Really, you never owned a Toyota? Good for you. Do you realize that a lot of Toyotas are more "American Made" than a lot of the domestic labels?

Funny how you can point out the tv, and computer, considering you made my point for me. I do NOT have a choice with those, I DO have a choice on some things, and choose to excercise my right to spend it where I see fit.

BTW, I do not watch FOX news, but that was a nice attempt at a dig.

I did not slam anyone here for their choice, I simply stated my own opinion, which apparently gets some peoples shorts in a knot. You choose to live there, and prop up their politics, fine, I choose not to fund them with the money I have control over. Why is that worthy of your attention, and effort to attack?

Temper tantrum? Here again a personal attack for someone stating their opinion, and excercising their rights that they still have. Would you willingly send money to Hugo Chavez? That is exactly the way I see the political movement in a lot of states. It is spreading, and I am sure that people will not wake up to stop it before the takeover is complete, but I will still do so while I still have some control.

BTW, before you go correcting the typo's in my posts perhaps you should concentrate on the spelling in your own (blue smoke thread). Personal attacks at someone else without perfection on your own end are kind of hypocritical, don't you think?

I wish you all the best in your endeavors, and sincerely wish nothing but the best for all of you.

I agree totally about BS on politics or religion or other things that are charged full of emotion yet not related to the ZR1. BUT IT KEEPS coming out.
What about just starting a thread over in the "Off Topic" area for this?
There could be treads like "slamming the president" or "Buying American" or "lets let poor people that get sick die" or "Muslims vs Jews" or any other crappy topic someone wants to let frustrations out on.

Here is how it would work.... I now refuse to continue this unrelated topic
on this "Newb confusion" thread. gone... pooooof.
Look for "Buying American" under "Off Topic"

A member posted and gave you some sound advise on who to call for your ZR-1/LT5 just say thanks and go about your business instead you turn it into a political discussion.

So please don't put all the blame on others.
Marc is a good guy no matter where he works or lives.
Some of us don't have a choice where we live and work we can't all be lucky like you.
If i had a choice i would not live in IL.

If you wanna talk politics we do have a OFF TOPIC section,go for it.

Like i said before i like your enthusiasm hope you stick around.

I couldn't agree with you more about the supra part, I am anti body kit of any kind, and looked hard and long for my hardtop/wingless car. It would eat my lf ZR-1 with no issue, but that is another story.
I like low key, and shopping cart handles do not fit the bill. Most people think my supra is a n/a

Here are a couple pics of two of my favorite cars (besides the vette of course). My 1991 highly modified turbo awd celica, and my hardtop tt.

My 1991 highly modified turbo awd celica

I was thinking of that car just the other day as a great car to go back and modify. poor mans evo

did they make a awd celica turbo? love the supra too, but then I've always been a turbo freak

my stable includes a highly modified turbo buick (bought new a T)

and a TT 2003 Z06 (tiger shark front, specter werks rear)

welcome to the wave, it's how us vette guys tip our hat to others

the ZR-1 guys wave!!

Your taking what I said as a personal attack? brother you don't know what a personal attack is. I was asking a question and you still didn't answer it. Exercising my rights? I hate to tell you but I gave you your rights and Ill never lose mine ill be a part of the next revolution if it comes to it. My opinion is not an opinion its a fact DO NOT bring politics and crap into a general car forum take it elsewhere but whatever I refuse to get wraped up in BS on the internet.

We want you to stick around I was trying to shed some light on what you were doing no one here really cares that you hate that state. They told you who the closest mechanic is and thats where he is, otherwise you will spend more money going to different states.

Do you like the following states? MO, TX, KY, CT, LA ? theres tuners for the LT5 in each you can search and find lists of the tuners.

But I guarentee that this place is the best for knowlage on your ZR-1 don't leave because of Illinois because if you do that means illinois got you again!
