Re: Which oil filter do you use?
On a related subject.... I see Mobil 1 is $21 a jug at Wallmart... not bad for 5 quarts.

Re: Which oil filter do you use?
YA BUT... You don't need a Mobil 1 filter... I use the Bosch... Autozone carries them.
BTW... Walmart is over $2 a quart cheaper for Mobil 1 oil than Autozone

Re: Which oil filter do you use?
I read on Marc's site the Bosch drains thru the check valve after 24 hrs, so I'm gonna try the Wix from NAPA

Re: Which oil filter do you use?
The previous owner used Bosch and that's what I'm going to continue to use. No rattle from what I can tell, pressure comes up quickly, oil stays clean.
I've only owned the car for about two months so my opinion doesn't really matter.

Re: Which oil filter do you use?
I will be switching from the Bosch to the WIX (NAPA) per Marc's new recommendation.....

Re: Which oil filter do you use?
I've been using the Bosch for several years, but I've noticed more chain rattle with the last 2-3 ... Marc's new info just confirms this. Makes me wonder if Bosch has "changed" their filters. Shame, I liked the look of the Bosch with the label removed. I will be trying alternatives soon ... may even change to another filter in the next few days even tho I changed oil/filter a couple of weeks ago. This last Bosch filter has more chain rattle than any filter I've used.

Re: Which oil filter do you use?
I use Mobil 1 Extended performance and the Mobil 1 Filter that goes with it. No chain rattle or weird oil pressure readings on my 54000 mile LT5. I get it all at advance auto parts which normally does a deal on the mobil1 which gives you 5 quarts and a filter. I buy two kits each time and have some extra filters. Each time I also have an extra quart, so pretty soon I'll have enough quarts and filters to do it for nothing, sort of.
