I always take the cruise control, support bar and the ECM loose when I remove the battery. Pull it right up and out. Only takes a few minutes.

I've never removed the side gill.

Which came first? The chicken (Grand Sport) or the egg (Morrison Snake Skinner Package)?

While considering turning the Turq car into a Snake Skinner version of a Morrison car, I really didn't like the idea of copying a Grand Sport. It goes down a lot easier for me knowing that the Grand Sports were copied from The Morrison Snake Skinner instead.

Well, with the help of the Registry of Corvette Race Cars, I confirmed what I had originally thought.
The 1996 Grand Sport was copied from the Morrison Snake Skinner cars. It was a pet project of John Heinricy, who raced the Morrison cars. (I'm probably the only one who didn't know the answer to the question LOL)

Notes/Race History: In the 1992-93 timeframe, three new builds were developed for both IMSA (GTS class) and SCCA World Challenge (GT class) series. The cars were built on a standard Corvette chassis (strengthened and reinforced) and carrying the new Morrison Snakeskinner body work. Morrison ran one car as a developmental mule in the 1992 Mosport endurance race (SCCA) and then ran two cars in the 1993 IMSA series. These cars subsequently ran both IMSA and SCCA in 1994 and 1995. For 1993 (IMSA) the cars carried a ruby red and white paint scheme (40th anniversary). In 1994 they ran in a modified red/white/blue scheme. In 1995 the Grand Sport Color scheme was introduced. Power was from a ZR1 engine, tuned to individual series specifications. For 1994, two cars (# 93 and # 94 ran at Daytona and Sebring (IMSA) followed by five races (out of seven) in the SCCA World Challenge. Car # 91 was run only once at Mid-Ohio by Del Percilla. The same two cars ran again in 1995 but with the Grand Sport (blue and white) style paint scheme. The cars ran # 95 and # 96 in IMSA GTS-1 and # 93 and 94 in SCCA. A (possible new build) car ran as # 92 in 1995 for one race with Dale Brudenell driving at Road America; this car is thought to be a one-off rather than a re-body of the 1# 91 (1994) Del Percilla car. These cars were also used in the SCCA GT1 (club racing) and NASA circuits. Dale Brudenelll drove # 92 in SCCA GT1 and John Heinricy drove # 94 in several NASA events.

Thanks Brett!

Would love to see a pic of the Ruby and White Snakeskinner... Would be a hoot to do a tribute to that... Probably none out there.

This guy used to spend some time on "team ZR-1" forum. His name is Terry can't remember last name. He is/was out of Florida. I was considering buying the kit from him years ago but I don't remember the particulars but some other guys were having problems with the guy and it scared me away
