A very belated message of condolences, Dom. I seldom visit this part of the forum and very much regret not seeing your September note sooner. I know a lot has happened since, but I want to let you know we're still thinking of you and your family, especially this time of the year. As you said in one of your posts, you never fully recover, but I hope the healing process has helped somewhat at least. We'll have a toast to Linda's and your life together - and the memories that live on - when we connect in May if not sooner.

Dom I never read off topics and just for fun I read it today. I am sorry I did not know about the passing of your wife Linda. It is a very hard thing to deal with and I know because I lost my first wife to cancer in 2007. You have alot of life to live and a fine daughter to look after so hang in there and remember the good times and that one day you will be with her in heaven.

. Ed you understand how insidious cancer is. I think of it as the "Ultimate Terrorist". You are further along in your journey but I am sure you recall how difficult these first months/years are.

Dom - I, like several others, rarely get off topic any more and missed your post. I'm so sorry to hear of your wife passing. I can't even begin to imagine what you been through for the last 2+ months. I recently lost my Dad to brain cancer and while it doesn't compare to loosing your life partner I know the pain that awful disease can bring. Dad was in full remission in Sept and he was gone in Dec. They will tell you that they are in a better place and no longer in pain or suffering and while that all may be true the bottom line back here on earth is there is a now a void that can't possibly be filled.

We are thinking of you and your family. We will keep you in our prayers. Stay strong...

Yes. My wife had just finished chemo which appeared to eliminate the tumors in her lungs. She seemed to be recovering and begin eating more even thinking about going back to work. And then her back began hurting. It was a mass in a thoracic vertebrae and then radiation. Her body said ENOUGH. We had wine w some friends on the deck of their home one day, and about 4 weeks later she passed.

Wow. That's just awful. Again, you are in our prayers. Stay positive, Brother. And stay connected. You're surrounded by people respect and appreciate you. Use that to your advantage.
