Once it is in gear and on the track, it's "GO FAST, TURN LEFT, GO FAST, TURN LEFT"! Petty could wear spurs too, and it wouldn't make any difference!

Carroll Shelby wore cowboy boots when he won Le Mans back in the 50s!

Re: Toe/Heal 2017
Here is a vid from the 2018 BG gathering and I am driving Steve's beast . What a hoot to drive an LT5 with that much juice under the hood ! I like this vid because you can see my hand placement on the steering wheel . After instructing at the driving course I was still seeing drivers placing there hands in the wrong places . Notice how loose my hands are on the steering wheel . I am also pulling down on the wheel threw the corners .
Steve's car has the Hurst short shifter also and it took a bit of getting used too . My hand is sometimes on the shifter but no pressure is applied until the shift . Also I have the wrong shoes( wide runners) and you will see a few mess ups with my toe/heel . Proper shoes are key . Watch how Steve tries to keep all the things at bay in the back of the car we were supposed to take out lol !Ooops . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q7ItuKddTbM Last edited by Tripler; 07-11-2018 at 09:43 PM. |
