2015 ZR-1 Road Trip to pick up my new (to me) 1995 Purple ZR-1

We just got back to Las Vegas and connected to the internet again. I will post a few pictures soon. Everything is going great and we are very happy with the car.

OK, finally a chance to sit down and catch my breath.

Here we are, the happy couple with our new Z:



A Maryland Plate on a Utah ZR-1.



It was quite a journey so far. Our flight from Chicago to Las Vegas was delayed taking off. With the 4-hour flight, the time difference, the delay getting a rental car and then then drive up to St George, UT, we arrived at our hotel about 2 AM our time. Saturday morning, we tried to contact the seller, but got no answer. After a few moments of impending panic, we drove to the sellers residence in a gated community, talked another resident into letting us through the gate and knocked on the door until the seller woke up. After that everything went fine.

We quickly got extra top and the other accompanying items loaded up and headed to Tire Pros of St George. I had a brand new set of Goodyear GS D3 - F1's tires standing by to replace the 20-year old Goodyears that were on the car.

While the tires were being mounted, we went to the UPS store where we picked up two pre-shipped boxes of tools and parts to have for our journey. Then we dropped off the spare top and all the stuff to be packed and shipped back to Maryland.

When the tires were done, we took the ZR-1 to a Grease Monkey to get an oil change and fluids check.



Everything was in good shape so we drove to the St George airport to return the rental car. Then we drove south on I-15, through the south west corner of Arizona and back to Las Vegas.

Congrats Jim! Have a fun trip. Looks like you are going to Santa Fe. Karen & I are going to be there on the 6th & 7th & maybe in the vicinity a day or 2 more. Would have been fun to see you there. One of our favorite places to go. Being in the art business, you will have lots to see.

Hi Jerry, We will be in Santa Fe, Friday the 10th. We will get to visit my brother and his family. We missed them one year ago when we were in Santa Fe because they were on the East coast looking at colleges for my niece.
