Up to temp and pressure, the fans just cycled. Good thing, my heater in the garage isn't keeping up with the door open.

Nice catch Cliff, aftermarket wires, they don't go in as far. Ask me about #8. -Steve

Still looks good, no creep or anything. Gotta shut her down, gettin' kinda light headed in the garage. Sorry about all the dirt in the picture, I just cleaned it up a little.

Thanks efnfast for the leakage test and looks like we are good to go. Soon as I have the part number for the heat shrink I'll be able to research and give you guys a final price.

Checked it again this morning, I did not start the car, just looked for creeping of the plug. None.

Hot Dang..............Steve....you are DAMAN.... What did you use to apply the heat?

I learned something here for sure....a very nifty way of installing a plug in a small hose where moderate water pressures are involved.....or use on radiator hoses

That Gates Shrink Tube (Gates Power Grip Clamps) seems pretty tough stuff

Gates Power Grip Clamps

Looks like a Gates 465-32915 or 465-32919 or 465-32922 Gates Power Grip Clamp.
I took my calipers out and yep .68 more or less as rubber is hard to measure. Now that is right on 11/16 inch so which Gates Power Grip do we use? The one that goes from 1/2 to 11/16 (465-32915) or the one that goes from 11/16 to 13/16 (465-32919)? The first one might not fit on the hose and the last one might be too lose

You can also find them on Ebay...for 1/4 inch hose, 3/8 inch hose, or 1/2 inch hose......and larger.

Gates 465-32915 Power Grip Clamp

Gates 465-32919 Power Grip Clamp

Gates 465-32922 Power Grip Clamp

Cliff, if memory serves, 11/16th od. Not 100% sure of that.
Those appear to be the clamps.
Used an electric heat gun, I think the last time I used a propane torch. I recommend the heat gun.

Thank You Steve.....
Is there a part number on your Gates Power Grip Clamp....I am guessing it is 32919???

As I recall...flyin ryan used these Gates Power Grip Clamps on Radiator Hoses.....but it did not sink in back then as to the smooth look and effectiveness of these clamps on Radiator Hoses

I will now try to find that flyin ryan post.....could not find flyin ryan post but here is another post on using Gates Power Grip Clamps for radiator hoses.
Gates Power Grip Clamps used as Coolant System Hose Clamps

Thanks Carter, I can't express enough how much better this plug looks than anything else I've seen. (No, I am not a paid spokesman, I just play one on tv).
