This is a very interesting thread... I like to see this kind of enthusiasm with regards to restoration especially when it comes to these prototypes. I would love to have one of these 87-89 ZR-1s not only is it a ZR-1 but the rarest of rare when it comes to GM's high perfomance design and engineering. I don't think we will see this kind of devolopment again when it comes to high performance american cars...this is American automotive history. Please keep the info and pics comming and this project when complete, will be a great story for the KOTH.

Thank you Tommy, I am having a ball. I hope to have it 90% done (minus DRM paint) by the Gathering. YOu are right about the C4 ZR-1. Remember they created this while trying to release the C5 in 93. that was such a small window of time.

I would agree on this,it amazes me this ever came together. An exclusive motor and body work not too mention countless parts that are ZR-1 specific that were shared with no other G.M. vehicles.

I just saw this thread today and sat and read through all thirty pages of it. Thanks you guys for the photos, the knowledge and the generosity to share it with all of us. I'm anxious to see more...

My calipers etc have no markings on them. No way to tell who made them.
