It sounds like it means all business.

I try to keep the RPM's either bellow or above the resonance.

Watch my video below.
Pete,

Thanks for the advice and for sharing that video. That is awesome and well worth any resonance.....bad a**

Sounding good Pete and some good runs. Are you running 4.10's? I love the sound of the B&B's, well worth the resonance in my opinion.

My B&B is also the old style. Is there much/any difference with the new style one?

That will show what it sounds like.

It's a shame you know of other cars out there but the owners don't get involved and you don't see them out and about.
Nice clip. Thanks for sharing. It sounds just about perfect (to me!).

I think I can answer that; Pete's Z is running the 3.45 (stock ratio) rear gear. The local "FBI" has (over many a pizza n brews) discussed the ZR-1's stock 3.45 vs. changing to the 3.73, 3.90, and the 4.10 trade-offs (adnauseum)

The issue is, Pete's rpms are running "over the top" in 3rd at 129.xx mph and prolly not making enough torque at those Rs to wring much more out of that setup. The 10s loom, and some are thinking the 4.10s might get Pete's 60 foot time down a few tenths more, and still result in a 3-4 shift in time to wring out net gain between quicker 60 foot, the time lost in the shift and the added torque (by way of returning to the "sweet spot" in the rpm band). It is an interesting question, and some testing is going to be needed. I'm sure Pete will jump in "any moment".

Fascinating - this drag racing stuff!

a couple of my friends an i have been mulling over that ? 410s could be better if one goes to a 16in full slick tire . reason being that the larger sidewall will give better bite creating a better 60 foot . mand h makes a 325x45x 17 that my kids tried on my white car last week that showed some promise. taking the car to 11.71 @121.68mph with 60fts being 1.61,1.55, 1.51. also removing the cats helped some . pete might try that tire with the 3.45s which at 28in tall drop his rpms to a better place . some of the improvement on my car might be due to a little younger driveras i hate to admit .

also using the da calculator on drag times makes the corrected time 11.35@125.64 as the da that night was 2600 ft.

Like Paul mentioned,on those runs it had 3.45.
I have installed 4.10's last week for BG gathering in hopes to getting better 60ft for a 10 second pass.

At BG ran 11.1 @ 128 with 1.59 60ft it was hot and humid plus the extra shift does not help.

Not sure, i think the new B&B's have more baffeling, some have what looked like to be restrictor plates at the tips.
B&B has been making changes thru the years.

Pete

Good info and thanks for sharing. I can't wait to get the 4:10s in, especially for the mostly city driving I do around here. Now if they would hurry up and build the darn race track.

I hadn't heard about the 4.10s as of last week, or the 11.1 in warm humid conditions. Pete, I gotta think "you're there" (10s) with the 4.10s when you consider your 11.09 run was at 40ºF last fall! Anywayz....We'll have a big celebration when you crack the "10 second" barrier!
