Re: has anyone seen!
Awesome video!!! Since I am retiring in 81 days I should have time to do some autocross and track events. Not sure about using the Z so will probably train in my 92 coupe which is set up for track to some extent.

Cool vid.. I am not likely to find myself rubbing bumpers on the track but man it sure looks to rock. Race on!

Re: has anyone seen!
Retiring, WTF. What are you gonna do with all your time? I'm jealous, I have a little over 6 1/2 years left. Congrats to you Doug. See ya in Portland.

I agree with Glenn. I "raced" #364 a number of times at TWS and by keeping the oil on full after starting a little over full, never had an oiling problem. When I was "racing" at TWS, we were allowed to pass only on the straights, not in the corners. Also, you had to have the driver you were passing wave you by. This was to prevent any 2 car crashes. The only time I raced TWS and could do a little more risky passing was when I went out with NASA Texas at TWS and drove with the "instructor" group. Then we were allowed a little more as the other drivers knew what they were doing and you could expect them to do the "right" thing. Another time at TWS a bunch of ZR-1 owners particularly Paul Smith rented TWS for a day. It rained hard that day but we still got in some good track time. Marc Randolph and I played together nearly all day. Glenn was there too. SW brought his C5 and took about 20 people on hot laps in the rain. SW can drive. I tried to stay up with him but no chance. By the end of the day the track had mostly dried up and Marc and I really got to go at it. My car had a little more power and he drove better in the places where the track still had some wet spots. I had trouble with dry wet dry. I took passengers with me as did nearly everyone. My driving was better when the track was completly wet or completely dry. While still wet, took one passenger for a couple of hot laps. First lap he was fine, then I picked up the pace a little. He had a little more trouble with that lap. Coming out of turn 2 you crossed over a dip and that gave interesting feelings as the Z would go airborne slightly and rpms would jump as wheels spun. Also rearend would step out just a little. Passenger got a little up tight right there. :-) Boy that was a fun day. Marc put his Z in the weeds coming out of turn 3. SW took a cute girl for a ride and did a 360 at about 100 in turn 1. I bet she never rode with him again. :-) Curtis
