Re: Anyone seen this car
Yea Tree, I was trying to figure where in westchester county or yonkers that photo was shot. I figured it might give me a line on where I gotta go to eye up that car. Can't place the spot....but in truth I didn't look all that hard at the photo.
this may be a fairy tale anyway!

Re: Anyone seen this car
Guys:
This story just gets better and better and better... <My email> Where is the car? I'm in California. How do we close the deal? I'd like to see the car in person before I write the check, I have cash in hand and am willing to deal RIGHT NOW. Regards, <his reply> Hello, Here is the VIN: 1g1yz22j9s5800367 The car is in excelent condition. The pictures show its exact shape. Garrage kept! This car runs and drives great. The transmission shifts like a dream. This vehicle's engine is in perfect working condition, no mechanical problems. Oil pressure is good. All mileage are highway mileage. No accidents. No paintwork. All power and optional equipment work perfectly. This vehicle is perfectly sound, no known defects. It has a clean exterior that looks new. Interior is clean and well taken care of. All electrical and optional equipment on this vehicle are in perfect working condition. You will receive the car along with all papers and recipts that you need, everything signed, ready to register it in you name. You will receive the TITLE, keys and owner manual. So you don't need to worry for extra money you would have to invest in it. (you have to consider that the car has 12 years on it....) I am currently stationed in Florida with the Army National Guard. I WILL BE STAYING HERE FOR 3 MORE WEEKS BEFORE BEING DEPLOYED TO IRAQ AND I WANT TO SELL THE CAR FAST. I have the car here with me and I will ship it for free as long as you are located in the US. The military will help me with the delivery of the car. It takes 1 day to handle the shipping and 4 days to bring it to you. I hope this is not a problem. In case you want to buy the car I will only use a safe third party service, that will secure both your money and me as the seller. So, if you are still interested, just let me know ASAP Thank you <snip> I'll see where this leads, heck who knows, I might wind up with a $9800 ZR1... yeaaa... right... T

Re: Anyone seen this car
Better and better...
<My reply to the latest email:> John: Yes, I did read your last email. Did you read mine? Here's the important part, just in case you missed it: Where is the car now and when can I go see it? I will bring a cashiers check with me and if I like what I see the car is SOLD. That being said, where and when can I see the car? I will bring cash. <His Reply> You are wasting my time! I can not sell the car in person. You are not alowed to enter the base and I do not have time to meet you. This is why I told you in my second e-mail that I will ONLY sell it using a safe escrow site. I hope you'll find another car..... <My latest reply> I am not wasting your time. I have the cash. I can get a plane ticket. You can drive it outside the base for 5 minutes. That's all it will take. We'll just have to see where this goes... it's been fun and i've not been that busy today...

Didn't this whole thread start with an EBAY listing?? If so, and if it's still listed, one of us should report it to EBAY security. They might track "honest John " down and clip his wings?

It was a Autotrader ad that one of the other guys pointed out. I just decided to email the seller and play a little game of cat and mouse. He's apparently pulled the ad, something must have scared him off. His mistake for trying to sell such a rare car at such a low price. If it had been any other common car he probably could have hooked himself a few suckers. It was fun and I was bored so what the heck. Tom

Re: Anyone seen this car
Bill
Tell him you have a level 21 security clearance, and that you can get into any installation in the world ( even area 51 ), and that you probably know his superiors. Hell tell him he does not even have to be there just tell you what base it is on and you will inspect the car and then forward payment anywhere he would like. I would really like to see how he plays that one. I have played with a lot of these scammers and this one from the sounds of it on a 1 to 10 basis, is probably a 4 but I still like to see how far I can bait them.
