After we left the Royal Gorge, we spent the day driving around the Rocky Mountains. We have lots of photos and I will post more soon.

I grew up in Southwestern Kansas and our usual family summer vacation was to the Cañon City area to visit relatives. Day trip to the Royal Gorge bridge was always the highlight. During one trip in the mid sixties my cousins were hiking ahead and stopped to throw a few rocks down into the gorge as young boys are prone to do. One of them managed to heave a small bolder down which ended up busting the large wooden stave water pipeline that supplies Cañon City. As you can imagine this caused a huge commotion. Made all the newspapers in the region with my cousin’s name prominently mentioned as the kid perpetrator. He received a good scolding from the local sharif but nothing more happened to him. Apparently this had happened before.

Great pics, Ccmano. The pic of the Z's parked on the overlook looking towards RMNP, and the backdrop of the sky is epic!

Educating more youngsters. Every place we stopped we drew a crowd. This one was the owner of an 09’ ZR1 that happened along. His car is in the photo below.
