Re: Zr1 Prototype hitting the auction!
Hmm.....Considering the average price of low mileage Zs are going for low 20 s,I would think 110K is a good selling price...

Re: Zr1 Prototype hitting the auction!
That's good when a seller doesn't feel like they have to take less than what they think the car is worth. Hold on to it until there's a buyer willing to pay. Who, knows, the auction may have given it a few more eyeballs, eventually leading to a sale.

Re: Zr1 Prototype hitting the auction!
Very disappointing to say the least :-(
the 1970 ZR1 only got to $130,000 and bid goes on The 1988 proto-type only got to $110,000 and bid goes on |

Re: Zr1 Prototype hitting the auction!
I respectfully disagree. Mecum has way better sales results regarding vintage stock Corvettes vs BJ. The 89 preproduction ZR1 that crossed the block last year at BJ had no bidding on it and the owner had to buy it back. Bretts car appeared to have money on it at least although it was not enough to get it done.

Re: Zr1 Prototype hitting the auction!
Some of the prior results might also have been driven by the GM heritage sell off

Re: Zr1 Prototype hitting the auction!
In my opinion, the auctioneer did work it as hard as they did other cars. It was on the block for less than two minutes. I guess they could tell the bidders just wasn't there.
There was only one other ZR-1 at auction. A Green/Tan 1990 with 733 miles. it sold for $27,000.00.
