It seems like the trend is still downward and has not leveled off yet, or am I being pessimistic??

406.1 '91 w/700 miles $33,000
620.1 '90 w/59k miles $16,500
643.1 '92 w/? miles $28,600
653 '90 w/4924 miles $32,450

It was about what I expected and they auctioned all the early years. The 5k mileage 90 brought fairly good $, the 91 was probably the best deal and the other 90 had a decent amount of mileage on it so never expected a great price on it.

I believe the trend has been level for the early cars, down for the rough early cars. The later years have definitely been downward for the time being but they will be worth the most in the future. Alot of people just are not going shell out $40-50k for a 15 year old car until the car comes into its own which will probably be at the 30 year mark.

The 91 was white/red - not a color that shows that great and white only appeals to select people.

90 with 59k miles is pretty much run of the mill driven car. It's fairly low selling price especially after backing out the commission but then again I didn't see the car. They all look good under the lights but how nice was it?

92 has no mileage so I can't comment

90 with 5k miles is where I would expect it to be price wise given the current economy.

I think if the right ZR-1's hit their auction you would see a difference.

The rare color cars , the 1 of 12, 1 of 19 and the later years and the colors that really pop. JMHO.

Maybe a Z with some Dymags etc.

I think it would garner more interest, more competitive bidding etc.

All the premium ZR-1's with fairly low mileage still retain good value.

I wouldn't sweat it - just enjoy the car.

I've had my Z 11 years and I can get what I paid for mine. That is a good deal in my opinion. I've lost 50% on my other 3

Vettes in the same time period. My Corvettes look basically like new when I'm done with them but those 3 had decent

mileage on them and mileage kills you every time in regards to resale value.

Thoughts from others?

Getting harder and harder to resist putting another in the garage. They are at the point I would say buy the best, lowest mileage car one can find and have no guilt about putting miles on it. These cars now are priced below what a lot of people pay for their daily driver.

Prices pretty much sucked for us.
Well seeing as I have a 90 with 49,986 on it I'm not gonna cry when I cross 50k this year. At 16.5 if I had to get out of mine in a hurry that would be a nut shot. I'm just gonna drive her till she quits & enjoy all of those miles of smiles in between! I do hope there's a lot more left in the old girl!

It's all cyclical. I've had my 67 GTO since the year the ZR1 was introduced to the public. If I paid close attention to "what it's worth" through all that time, I would probably have stroked out long ago. I'm not very worried about whatever the market bears today.

Another thing to remember, these cars are not yet old enough to be "classics". For now, they're just "old Corvettes". Just like the '92 Firehawk in my garage, of which 27 were hand-built, is just another "old Firebird" for now. I'll continue to have patience (even though the car won't be for sale at any price).

I don't know I just got back from Florida with my very clean 90 with 20K on it and paid $17,900 for it. Seeing a 90 sell for that much makes me feel much better.
