"FrankenRelay" is a Potter & Brumfield 12v 30a relay. both the relay and it's quick release base can be bought in any car parts store. I got mine from my neighbor who manages a diesel truck repair depot

2. Do you have a schematic showing how you connected the five wires to the new relay from the old relay (what pin to what pin)?
|
Schematic is on the relay. There is an industry standard for relays, usually (but not always) the pin outs are the same.

3. What gauge wire did you use between the relays and about how long are the wires?
|
14 gauge primary wire from Home Depot. $2.50 for 20 feet, each wire is about 6 inches long.

4. How exactly did you mount that new relay? Or is it just sitting there by the stiffness of the wires between the two relays?
|
I didn't want to put a screw through the floorboard so I just left it standing there. There is a thick insulating mat that goes over the ABS pump, I figured it would hold everything in place.

5. Does this modification apply to a 90' Z only?
|
My research indicates that this relay was used in '86 - '91's Corvettes and trucks, and in Volvo's and BMW's. You'd think there would be ton of them out there but I was able to only find a few and I didn't want to pay over $70 for a stupid relay.

6. I assume Code 63 (ABS Solenoid Relay failure) is a CCM (A & G) code?

BCM code. Can only be read and reset with a Tech One.
