"Just for the fun of it!" - actually from what I understand, Jagdpanzer wants to stroke it out to 427. I presume after the disassembly internals will be inspected and heads sent out for mod.
Maybe Phil will chime in and add more detail.

Shop policy. Any ZR-1 left more than 2 weeks will be disassembled.

I've been wanting to do an LT5 build project for sometime but couldn't stand the thought of not having my Z in running condition for whenever I wanted to drive it. Fortunately I was lucky enough to find this long block http://www.zr1.net/forum/showthread.php?t=10794&highlight=long+block&page=2 for a modest price to start the project off with. First step is to tear it down to see what kind of condition it is in. Then the plan is to built it back up with a 4.0" stroker crank I recently acquired. Not decided yet if it will be a 402 or a 427. Either way would be fine with me and, just a question of $$$. A fun project to do with my two sons and WAZOO pals.

I plan on coming up, this sounds like alot of fun.

go 427, there is something magical about that number

might want to take a look at the new liners pete has done, they look pretty good!
