I ordered this kit, not sure if it's the GM equivilant or not, but RTV sealer should take care of it. Are you using a gasket? http://www.mamotorworks.com/corvette...ywords=602-954 Rich

Re: Diff Question
Thank you Jeffvette, I use that on the T56 tranny I’ve rebuilt. Its good stuff. I was concerned due to the structural aspect and flexing of the structure that plain silicon wouldn’t due the job.

Can you confirm the part number you have is Spicer 706352X? Danelle from the link you provided said that is the part number they sell on the listing, but a friend of mine said the part number for our D44-HD is Spicer 707018X as shown here that this is what was used to rebuild his D44 in C4: http://www.diffsonly.com/catalog/adv...f8a13&x=3&y=10 Based on this site from Dana/Spicer, I think 706352X is for Dana 44 solid axle: http://www2.dana.com/expertforms/depart.aspx Putting in the two part numbers and click on where used and then the drawing as you will see the GM and Jeep application with our rear. Okay, good news and it should work then. The gal from the site you ordered (Danelle) said it is interchangeable and a marketing scheme from Dana. I ordered the 707018X from here: http://www.drivetrainspecialists.com...oduct-446.html Thanks! |

Re: Diff Question
So my rebuild kit came with a gasket and I noticed the factory does not use one based on mine and all the photos I see. When I reassemble, don't use the gasket that came with the kit and just use sealer?
Thanks! |

Re: Diff Question
I was just down at NAPA and saw the "Right Stuff" Jeff talked about. It was in the sealant section with the RTV and anti-seize. Hope that makes it easy for anyone looking.

Re: Diff Question
Thanks John. I just came from Napa and forgot to pick that up. After all these years, I also found out that they give military discount. Man, I missed out on hundreds of dollars discount over the years.....like almost 30.
