You are correct that all 94-95 R134a components are metric thread, including switches. 90-93 R12 fittings are all SAE (American) thread.

Sorry I'm late to the dialog.. I too simply swapped my manifold from my old R-12 compressor to the R134 compressor. Simple swap.. Glad you got it going! Steve Sent from my SM-G950U using ZR-1 Net Registry mobile app |

Re: AC Expert question
Marc said no problem using a R12 compressor cycle switch on a converted 134 system so will do that.

Re: AC Expert question
Reviving this old thread from last year. I just replaced my condenser and accumulator/dryer. In trying to disconnect the dryer from the Compressor hose I discovered that flange nut from the hose to the dryer had welded itself to the dryer (dissimilar metals) and was impossible to remove. After removing the compressor hose with the dryer attached I managed to get the nut off but found that the threads of the flange nut were so badly galled that the compressor hose could not be reused. My local hose shop couldn't rebuild it either.
In shopping for a replacement compressor hose I discovered that they are not in abundant supply. There are really two places that sell them. "The Parts Place" and "Volunteer Vettes". The 90-92' and 93-95' compressor hoses are not interchangeable. They are pricey as well. $150-180 plus shipping. I got mine from Volunteer and had it in hand in a few days. So if your stocking up on parts you may want to add this one to your list. H
