Living in Australia puts a few restrictions or obstacles in the way of sourcing and trying parts the may or may not work for me. $ exchange rate and shipping costs, taxes, duty etc. what are your thoughts about this. A set of OBX or similar headers, no cats, original pipes and electric cut outs prior to the factory mufflers? Or all of that, but add a pair of locally sourced freer flowing rear mufflers. Just trying to upgrade sound and gain a little performance without too much hassle and expense. By the way I have not researched electric cut out systems. Is there good and bad, ones to stay away from?
Cheers. Russell

I personally don't like cutouts, they break often. It's cheaper, simpler and more practical to just put a set of free flow mufflers on like you mentioned. Removing the factory resonator isn't a bad idea either

I completely agree here it's the smell. You want to use the Random Tech or Magna Flows stainless high flow styles.

I've got SW headers to tips. Running their metal matrix hi flo cats and have no smell and only a very slight loss in hp at the wheels. When I port the top end and retune again, I won't even see the impact of running cats.. slight drone at 1800 under light load. No big deal. Love the exhaust note on the SW system.
