Re: 1989 #78 ZR-1
Most of the '89s were used by GM as press cars.

Re: 1989 #78 ZR-1
Wow, congratulations again! So cool and what an important piece of history!
What is on the list for Marc to do? How's it run as it sits? BTW I saw your post on Facebook about the NoS tires - those are awesome. Can't believe how many people seriously think you're going to drive on them! Good grief... Enjoy! Mike

Re: 1989 #78 ZR-1
The car had not been started in three years so, I had it sent to a Chevrolet dealership that has a tech with an excellent reputation for 2nd generation ZR-1s. I did that so when I got the vehicle home, it would be able to move under it's own power.
They changed all the fluids, drained and cleaned the gas tank, installed new spark plugs and a new battery, primed the oil and started the car. It has 9,2XX miles and runs very well. Since it can take quite some time to get it in at Marc's, I won't be pushing it until then. As for the tires...I'm probably going to Hell for stirring up those keyboard bandits on that Fakebook forum. I knew a new old stock tire thread would get em all wound up. Those tires could come in handy one day but, it goes without saying, not for much driving. |
