Thanks so very much Tom for posting all those great pics. I had a great day with the WAZOO group!
To elaborate on the last stop this is the Friend To Friend Monument. It depicts an interaction between Confederate General Lewis Armistad and Union Captain Henry Bingham. Capt Bingham was a staff officer to Union General Winfield Hancock. Hancock and Armistad had served in the US army for many years together prior to the war of northern aggression. They had been the best man in each others weddings. Gettysburg was the first time these commanders faced each other on the battlefield. Armistad was one of the few confederates who made it across the stone wall during Pickett's charge. He was wounded and fell on the field. He gave the masonic sign of distress which was recognized by Capt Bingham. The captain went to his aid. In their discussion, General Armistad sent his regrets to General Hancock, who had also been wounded in the attack. The monument captures the moment that General Armistad was giving his masonic watch to Captain Bingham to be given to General Hancock. General Armistad was removed from the field and taken to a Union hospital where he passed 2 days later. The Grand Lodge of PA placed this monument in 1993. My local lodge, Good Samaritan Lodge 336 in Gettysburg, has cared for this monument since it was placed. I have been the coordinator of this effort for the past 10 years. This is a very special monument for PA Masons and as a District Deputy Grand Master for the Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania, I'm very proud of this monument and happy to assist with it's upkeep.

Great pictures Tom. Thank you for posting them. Since I was leading the group most of the day, I didn't get many pictures from the road. I was nice to see all of my favorite roads filled with ZR-1's.
