Glad you got that worked out Gary, that question will remain unanswered...lol
It appears that the particular socket you received may have had a problem during the manufacturing process. It would be my guess that the tolerances weren't checked like they should of been. A problem of quality control. I would send that one back to the ebay seller and get a refund, have them pay for the return shipping if possible...
