I thought you were going to say she was being interviewed for treating patients from the tornado. No way at that hospital! Glad you're OK.

Holy sheepshite! Glad she was OK! We watched that tornado live on TV at work most of the time it was on the ground. I am a certified Storm Spotter and have always been fascinated with weather. This thing was definitely a beast. I have seen F4 damage here locally which just dropped your jaw. To see the grass gone and everything else just wiped into giant piles of rubble would be stunning I think. I wouldn't move to Ok if they paid me... Every home there should be built of concrete...

The National Weather Service recently upgraded the storm to an EF5. it's been reported that 13,000 homes destroyed or badly damaged.

I've been meaning to install a storm shelter for the last couple of years, but just never get around to it..... Been re-thinking that poor decision the last few days.

I would DEFINITELY do that! Can't be that hard. Call to make sure there are no buried utilities, rent a backhoe, dig it, put in some 1" clean rock for drainage, drop in a prefab concrete shelter with the backhoe, back fill, and done...

That Atlas one is pretty cool - but this is more what I was thinking: http://www.shelters-of-texas.com/concrete.html

I live in the mountains and still installed me one.. I doubt it will flood here ( 2000 ft elev. or ever get a really bad tornado . BUT I found a 12'x 24 ' water tank which was a 1/4 in thick , sprayed it with road sealer , dug a hole, laid it horizontally . Poured a concrete floor , welded bunk beds to the walls and a sink and toilet. covered it about 3 ft. above the top with dirt . DONE! I also found some food grade barrels and have 55 gallons of water , extra clothes , and a couple MRE's .I guess I could stay in there a few days if necessary.
