Re: Group Buy Stainless Works.
Headers just replace the factory exhaust manifolds and factory CATS
SW also sells a seperate exhaust system I believe - you could use factory, use the SW exhaust, or some other aftermarket exhaust system

Re: Group Buy Stainless Works.
Only if you also opt for the X-pipe too. Which reminds me...
If I recall correctly, I believe at one time SW had two X-pipe options; one with a "cheese grater" liner (presumably to address resonance) and one w/o. Personally, I opted for the clean 3" X-pipe (no such liner). Might be worth asking about if also purchasing the X-pipe - IF it is even offered anymore. Just sayin. p.

Re: Group Buy Stainless Works.
I'm in - '91 ZR1 - do NOT want air injection. From reading above this is doable. Whom/how do we contact for specs/final deal?

Re: Group Buy Stainless Works.
shere was this group buy 2 years ago? FYI a B&B x pipe and catback will slip right onto the SW Headers. If you get their pipes that extend off the headers to their resonator.

Re: Group Buy Stainless Works.
Quote:
Headers + Corsa: The Corsa stainless cat back runs about $1500. The headers were $850 to me 4 years ago (group purchase then too) so figuring "Affordable Healthcar" tax, etc, guessing $1000 shipped for the headers; a little more if you choose to also buy their cats, and add $250 - $350 to powder coat the headers (optional). Bottom line estimate: $3000 to $3200 (uncoated) should get you close for the headers and Corsa catback w/cats if you install 'em. As for sound, the Corsa (to me) has more of a raspy sound - kinda like an F1 V12 car, and no resonance and less of a deep throaty sound (to my ear). As for performance, opinions (and data) varies - even among experts. B&B: Costwise, close to the SW/Corsa discussed. Sound is deep and throaty, but there is a resonance issue with the higher performance "kits". SW: Stainless works makes a complete system too. I don't know what they sound like or who to refer you to on that. But, at the discount price it would be well worth looking into, especially now. Custom: The all-out perfromance system, with "reasonably controlled" resonance (that incedently several of the "FBI" gang is trending to), is a 3" dual with a SW X pipe and a Dynamax Ultra Flo 17228 with an exhaust flow gate on one of the outlet tubes (either the NPP from a C6Zor ZR1, or various electrically controlled gates). (Note: An altrnative to the DM Ultra Flo 17228 muffler might be the Dynamax VT 17963 with built-in gate. DM claims "no resonance", FWIW, but to my knowledge is unproven on the ZR-1.)This custom approach has the potential to be the most cost effective while being a proven performance setup. And, the sound is incredibly good and resonance is mitigated to the point normal conversations can be had while cruising (according to Pete and others). But, whenl you hammer it, the system simply becomes ferocious!! (Dominic has a video of this system on his car.) Cost of the custom system depends on the discount and how much of the SW system is included in the complete system. But, potentially it may be the most cost effective route of the three, depending on cats/no cats, coated or uncoated, NPP (or the like) or VTs. P.

Re: Group Buy Stainless Works.
Of course ya know, any alterations to the intake or exhaust system requires tuning to maximize the results.
