Phil... wow what a great gesture and yes but have to ask you something..can this lift be put together without the 'cherry picker' host if I have a couple young strapping young guys there (meaning my son and a couple friends...sorta a pay back since I am giving my Snap On lift to my son)..???

I guess if its someone else's back involved doing the heavy lifting it may be worth a try. However, for safety sake I would be careful, those ramps are very heavy. In my case I also needed the cherry picker for removing the lift from the delivery trailer.

Oh..to remove from the transport I have a BobCat with forks to do that..was hoping after that we could do with people power... yes or no to this approach?

I assembled my lift with just one helper, my teenage son. I had to get a little creative in the use of some dollies, but it was not hard to do.

Did you get an 110 VAC motor?

I will be glad to come help put it together.

The rolling jack I got looks like it will not work on your lift. Here is a pic of my jack (black paint) with its rollers sitting on the deck lip edge.

You can see that there is not much clearance to the air deflector.

Lift doesnt need to be bolted to floor but after a couple weeks I decide to bolt it down . I figure I can unbolt it if I want to move it. The lift is MUCH sturdy when secured to floor.

Three of us put it together in about three hours and another two hours to level it. Make sure to have a good level, I found a digital was much easier to use.

You have to hold things real steady while stabbing the ramp bolts in the cross members so I would play it safe and go with a cherry picker or perhaps you could use the Bobcat for this purpose. They don't cost much to rent for a day and could save you a strain or two and maybe even a finger. I have a set of chains that work perfect with one.

Phil... you convinced me to rent the engine hoist...reserved one for Aug 14-17 (weekend but only charge for 1 day's rental).

Jim and Toyvet... decided to go with the Direct Lift Pro Jack 3500



With the lift pads in place minimum height is 3 1/2" BUT with pads removed only 2" height...that works perfect for the front air dam issue.

Hey Guys,
With all you guys that have 4 post lifts...how high is your garage ceiling? I have been looking at a Jim's and the one Michael is getting but with only a 9' ceiling, I don't think a lift will work for me. Damn, I will only be able to stand upright under the car

Depends on what goes under it. I have a 10' ceiling and that is more than enough for working under the car and stacking it over my Audi A6 Quattro which is 57.5" high

Mine is a 9'2" (110") ceiling... quite sufficient for working under the car. I am not particularly getting the lift for stacking cars...although I think I have room to do that with the two Vettes since both are under 48" H (plus you add 5" for the lift deck thickness)....I am sure I will be finding out soon
