I received word about the changing of the colors at the Marine Corps War Memorial (correct name).

Bottom line is, the date is uncertain except that it will occur before July 4th. It could occur on the 1st, 2nd or 3rd, IF the weather cooperates. Weather determines whether the flag detail can get onto the monument. If it's wet, no one is allowed on. Even the time is subject to variation, but "normally" the flag detail leaves Henderson Hall at 0800.

What I'm trying to say fellas, is THANKS for your offers to attend, but it doesn't sound practical. The thought matters!

Just a reminder; I won't be available to fill gasket & seal orders after Friday, the 26th until July 10th. If you are planning work or need something, please place your order.

Thanks,

Cool Re: Jerrys LT5 Gaskets: Vacation

I never go to DC without visiting the memorials to our fallen soldiers. If it were not for their sacrifice, we would not be enjoying the freedom we have today.

Have a great trip.

Jerry I wonder if anyone has by name listings of who was in your units durring the times you were there, maybe at the marine corps museum? with the turn over you guys were dealing with I know it would be hard to do, but it would probably take some serious research to find your friends names.

Hi Johnny,
It may be possible, but I have my doubts. I used to belong to the VDHA, Vietnam Dog Handlers Association. We tried to find names of handlers with not much luck at all, and we were a very small unit, usually about 12~15 scout dog handlers, depending on casualties and replacements.

I am going to the museum & will check. They have a new exhibit for Vietnam era scout dog handlers that I am anxious to see.

Semper Fi Johnny

Thanks Matt, but why didn't you order directly from the web site (see below my signature) & save $5.00? I use the Bay to enhance my Google results and reach new customers that haven't found the forum yet. Prices are higher on the Bay to cover all of their fees, which have now gotten much more expensive.

I'll get your order out TODAY! MUCH APPRECIATED!!
