If anyone sends you a letter or stickers your car, by all means write a letter to the property manager, association, and the assoc. attorney explaining that you are within the rules and the car is not in storage. Some associations prohibit car covers because they cannot see if the license plate is on, or is current. That is why you occasionally see covers with a clear small plastic window so they can tell at a glance if it is a road worthy car. Otherwise I would suggest the following. Let sleeping dogs lie As was mentioned, many of these people have nothing better to do, and will make it their life's work to hassle you if you get on their bad side. So be respectful and do not piss any of them off. You will have less headaches in the long run. |

That's a serious load of crap. Your property is your own. If you need anyone for that cookout, I'm about a half hour away!

Re: My association is trying to ban the Z!
I hope you get that promotion in AZ....if you really want it that is.
just a fwiw, ZFactor is right. Don't piss off the BOD as they can make any changes that they want to the "house rules". Also what Jim said is worth keeping in mind. I work as a super in a Co-Op and I've seen this kind of thing many times. It's just that some boards get carried away, but if you explain why the car is covered...nicely. Most of the board members are not car guys and don't get where we are coming from so they just look at the "visual" impact anything has on the property. I'd suggest to start the explaining with the property manager and if you can get that person to listen to reason you may have an easier time with the board. Most property managers are reasonable people and will listen to reasonable explanations.

Re: My association is trying to ban the Z!
This kind of **** is happening more and more over here too. It appears self appointed important people that want to ram their perfect ideals down everybodies throat are taking over everywhere
One of the Viper guys over here moved to New Zealand and then moved back because he reckoned it was worse than here and that is really saying something.

Re: My association is trying to ban the Z!
First this is why I do not live in a HOA Im conected to one and those tools can have that ****.
Second a car cover is to protect the car from the enviroment I can't understand how its a "eye sore" stupid tools. I have 2 cars in my driveway both with car covers on them one is the 1968 Crovette awaitng its restoration and I also have had my ferrari out under a cover when I have been doing other things in the garage like paintng. The ZR-1 needs paint so no car cover for the ZR-1
