Just installed an Alternator for a Z brother in our "VA plenum Pull" @ Michael R's home.....

Glen paid $130 for an alternator from Kurt White (wasn't OEM, not identical to original, but worked).

Installation wasn't too bad.

Just a few bolts and had to move some hoses.

I'll get you the "brand" that we used. I think you can purchase it for much less @ any auto store.

When the headlights and blinkers are on the volt meter is swinging back and forth bigtime.

the OEM voltmeter??

what about headlights only?


I am thinking there is no issue, I am pretty sure my 90 does the same thing, but I cannot run ot and check, it is still an hour away

Well after after discussing with Jeff sounds like the Alt is fine, must just be a difference between the 90s and 92s.

I went and got my 90 today.. so I called Lee while in the car.. mine is just as he describes.. I think it is a non-issue

pull the battery, remove tray, then clean and remove paint on the frame. The 90 model has a TSB for this. I did this on my 94 too. It helped with the dash volt meter bounce.
