Re: Byron Dates
Pete,
Just plan on something much faster than your car, especialy since no one will be there to verify my speed. I will search the dumper for timeslip in the 10s. Sorry you guys couldn't make it, but I guess they don't let you run if you're wearing a skirt.(when all else fails try provoking ). LGAFF 92 ZR1 #234 PS: Watch it be slower than last year. |

Re: Byron Dates
Paybacks are a *itch, but car and driver ran like sh**. At first I could not get it to hook, as most could not today. My best 60ft 2.09, and my shifting sucked. Best overall run was a 12.87 @ 114.29.
One run was 13.01 @117.47. HMMMMM......all that porting did not pay off too much. Last year after I had everyhting sorted was running as fast as 12.54....with slowest times my last day at 12.8. Back to the drawing board. LGAFF 92 ZR1 #234 |

Re: Byron Dates
Lee,forget the ET is there a differance in MPH.
If you picked up about 2 MPH that's about 30hp. I don't really like Byron there clocks are wacko,i guess i wouldn't expect any better from a weekend track. Pete

Right now both Lee and I have experienced similar results with Trap Speed being nearly the same as before the P&P. Unfortunately, neither of us benchmarked the hp on the motors before this winter although I doubt my motor was making 387rwhp before P&P. And the hp/tq curves definitely show a higher peaks for each of them. I think track conditions have a lot to do with these results so far. Both of us are running street tires and BG was not hooking. They sprayed the VHT once and that was it. |

Re: Byron Dates
MPH were all over the place: 113.45, 111.34, 114.29, and 117.47.
Very inconsistent, need to get with Dominic to run a scan and see whats going on with the car. LGAFF 92 ZR1 #234 |

Re: Byron Dates
Lee,what RPM are you shifting at?
At 380-390 rwhp you should run about 116-118 Did you run both lanes? either way, what is your 1/8 mph and 1/4 for each run. The couple of times i raced at Byron one lane was wacko compared to the other. I usually run very consistant withen tenths 2 times i ran at Byron the left lane i was running 94MPH 1/8 the other 97+. The lane i ran 94 1/8 the 1/4 MPH was 124 the other lane i ran 98 1/8 the 1/4 was 121,same day. The other 2 tracks i run, both have me at 97+/124+ Now i know my Z does not pick up 31mph on the last half and 23 is way too low. 60ft is ET nothing to do with MPH if you noticed some fast ZR-1's at BG were not getting the ET but the MPH was still there. If you are looking to test your power Byron is not the track for it very inconsistent. I have raced plenty to know that in my opinion Byron is just a fun track to hang and practice shifts not a test and tune track, unless you wanna go bald pulling your hair. My suggestion try GLD.Route 66,or US41 Pete
