Sam, I do believe that your understanding of the "how to" is correct. That is the reason that those programs cost what they cost? They will give the same and usually more info for display then even the hand held scanners, and they are able to present that info in different forms.
As I look at my MT2500 Snap-On it just gives me three display lines of what the sensors are doing so I have to scroll to get it all. The lap top stuff can put up everything if you like on one screen, or isolate any number of info streams as you see fit, display the data as numerical values, graphs, overlay graphs, bar displays. I mean like it's almost endless how the data can be depicted on the screen. Tom
