To this list, I would recommend adding a fuel pressure gauge.
Autozone's is a decent enough product.

I'd add to that these:

Remote hose clamp tool, and a magnetic pickup tool

what tools are needed to do a head gaket on these cars .? this is in my near future . also where can i purchase them . thnakyou for any help

sorry for the ugly spelling . gotta start wearing these dumb glasses. does anyone know what special tools are needed for changing a head gasket and where can one buy them .thank you for any guidence you can give

You don't use zebra clamps?

And the magnetic pick up tool should already be in your tool box. Just remember it won't pick up the stainless socket cap bolts.

Great information on the tool list. I was thinking of getting an ODB-1 scanner. Where could I buy one and how much woud it cost?

Tony, the best you can buy would be a Vetronix Tech 1. It is bimodal and can control the engine and certain other functions. It is not just a scanner.
