Then don't think that's why you never see a ZR-1 on the road. Too many people buy them to park them and let the next guy actually enjoy it. I really wish I could enjoy mine a bit more, but with a family it is difficult (and frowned upon) to put 4 people in a Corvette.

So true, but I have also once done 3. Many years ago when my daughter was about 12 years old she was playing soccer about 45 minutes from home. We went to watch the game. She took the team bus so we took the ZR-1 assuming the bus was how she would get back. But she was so tired after the game on a hot day that she begged us to take her home. So she hopped in the the back of the Quasar Z and curled up. She slept all the way home, in the back of a ZR-1 with a Corsa exhaust, no less. But I don't otherwise recommend more than two in a Z. --Bob

Unicorn is a great description. Our cars with LT5 is the first time and only time. GM put a dual overhead cam 32 valve engine in a corvette. It is way ahead of its time and is an icon in the Industry. It's only 1.94% of all C4's ever manufactured. It's a unicorn and it's not because of paint Color or anniversary editions. It's because of the mechanics of the LT5.Screenshot_20231203_090820_Chrome.jpg

The older I get the faster I was.

Isn't the C8 Z06 a dual overhead cam? So the only time statement can no long apply.

You're absolutely correct and I am wrong. Our cars are the first dual overhead Cam 32 valve engine with 16 fuel injectors to be put in a corvette. Only took 33 years for GM to figure out what works. Embrace are unicorn.

The older I get the faster I was.

So true. And for the record, I, too, am getting faster by the minute. --Bob

Is this motor exclusive to the C8 ZR1 or will GM use it in other applications?
