Safe travels guys, great to see you back on the road again, enjoy. Another days drive and you'd be in Reno/The Sierras/Lake Tahoe. Just a thought.

Today was an adventure! Everything was going great until I was doing 70 in heavy truck traffic and had to choose between hitting a 3?x3?x4? board OR dive into the guard rail.
I chose the board and the result was a slam that shook the whole car. I limped to a stop, convinced I had blown at least one tire. To be continued?. Sent from my iPhone using ZR-1 Net Registry |

After a quick inspection? no blow out. Got in traffic again to get to a safer place. The car had a lot of vibration above 20 mph.
We Googled a tire store and got the Z up on a lift and found the front left tire was badly bent. We were between Columbus and Springfield, OH, we called a Chevy dealer who gave us the name of a wheel store that might help us. Sent from my iPhone using ZR-1 Net Registry |

We drove back to Columbus and found the Best shop I have ever seen. They immediately got the wheel off, pulled the tire an spun the rim. The options were: try to straighten it, or mount the tire on a spare rim (95 stock) or drive back to Home and swap a rim.

We decided try to straighten the wheel. They worked their magic. We ended with a wheel and tire that balanced with a 2 oz weight. We got back on the road by 5 pm.
