Another happy customer here

Lightbulb Re: HAIBECK CHIP??? is it realy worth the money?

One note of caution and it is related to headers. His chips are designed to reduce fuel since the stock chip at WOT is a little rich. However with headers it needs to be higher so he use to charge more to redo his own calibration back to the original fuel delivery %. So if you have headers or plan on getting them you will want to mention it to him.

Keep in mind that some tuners do not charge extra to recalibrate their own chips off the shelf, and some even allow one recalibration for free if your mods change. Mark is a great tuner , but their are other choices as well.

The needle stays in the middle of the gauge now. The CAGS is not working anymore. It feels snappier too.

I can tell you that between the two mods there is a noticable power difference. My 1/4 mile trap speed is over two MPH higher, this indicates more power and I have bigger traction problems now . This doesn't tell you much but it is all I can offer since I did both mods at the same time. Consider the Flowmaster #17115 if you don't have an exhaust. It's under $600 shipped to your door from Summit Racing.
How is the resonance with that system? ive heard one with LTs, it was super loud following it (but sounded mean as hell).

Yep, I'm with Jon on this. Just a louder what I call drone or hum inside. Nice system, especially for the price. Pics on another post.

On average a good after market exhaust and chip will get you 15 - 25 hp. For the money it's a good bang for the buck before having to add hearders or go inside the engine.

Exhaust alone is good for 5 to 15hp and a chip 5 to 10 hp. You cannot go wrong with a chip from Mr. Haibeck whoo is also one of the most knowledgeable ZR-1 people on this planet.

My input is a little late for you assassin, but I got one of his chips last year...turning on the fans early is worth it alone, but I've been pretty happy with mine as well.

My car has Haibeck headers w/ cats, a Corsa exhaust, and Marc's chip. The net result is an increase of 45 HP and 40 TQ at the crank. We dyno'd the changes as we went, including without Cats (cats only cost about 2 hp). The chip itself does add about 10 hp as Marc says, and the exhaust mods were responsbile for most of the rest. He dynos everything before he will say a word on any improvement, so trust me, it's 10 hp. The CAGS defeat, valet key always on and early cooling fans make the car more driveable. Plus he tailors the chip to the mods on your car; for example if you don't have headers the air/fuel ratio is slightly different.--Bob
