Re: Pete's Handy Work
I believe Marc also has an electronic device to correct the speedo reading.
Recently I installed 4.10s in my 92, but due to the 19” Z06 wheels on the rear, I continue to use the stock speedo. My speedo reads about 2-3mph higher than actual as measured by GPS. The combo of gears and taller wheels/tires comes out to be about a 3.53:1. Close enough for horseshoes and handgrenades in my book. Not worth the. Other

Re: Pete's Handy Work
I believe the 4.09/4.10 option is a little over hyped.
It is better for city driving, but you will not get to 60mph in first gear anymore and if your car makes good power hooking up in first is going to be difficult. If my car did not come with the gears I would focus on adding more power.

Re: Pete's Handy Work
I really have been thinking hard about the 4.10 gears as of late. My first 91 had the Watson headers along with the very free flowing early B&B 3 in. exhaust, custom chip and 4.10 gears. I loved how it felt. Current 91 Marc did all the porting along with goodbye to the secondary system, light weight flywheel, and larger throttle body. I guess I should take it to the track with the sticky drag radials and see how it runs.

Re: Pete's Handy Work
Thanks John enjoy.
I would suggest installing the intake first before you decide on 4.10 gears. Pete

Re: Pete's Handy Work
I have 4.10s and I love them, a little more shifting but it really livened up the car.
I am headed over to Pete's in a couple weeks for a set of cams! Whoo Hoo!

Re: Pete's Handy Work
Well, my exhaust is presently choked down at the resonator. I am replacing that now while I am getting prepared. So the project will add power by freeing up the exhaust (estimated at 20 hp). Plus I will get a good gain from the cams, so I should be running pretty good by the time this project ends!
