Re: Wheel help guidance please
I would do what GC is doing. Find some real ZR-1 36mm offsets AFS or GM.
They could even have some blemishes. Then powder coat them black with a polished lip. Sent from my iPhone using ZR-1 Net Registry

Re: Wheel help guidance please
Another recommendation here to buy and powder coat an OEM set. You'll pay a little more upfront, but I think that you'll end up with a higher quality, and lighter, wheel that fits correctly without the use of spacers - and unless the supply of 17" tires dries up, you'll always be able to resale easier than an aftermarket set.

Had you contacted these folks? If anyone has, or can get them, WCC can. Good Luck! Marty |

Another vote to invest in an OEM set. They fit, look and function great, and would retain their value if you ever want to change back.
Spray painting with a removable rubberized, but durable, coating of black Plasti-dip might be another option. There are many options on their web site, along with video demos. One video https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_c...&v=AFYX_5cS1go Many wheel kits at their site: https://www.dipyourcar.com/collectio...lar-wheel-kits A good friend coated his silver '83 Porsche 911 wheels with it. Was very pleased, except he said he'd have done a little better prep work (see video). All the best in your search.

Re: Wheel help guidance please
The problem with 'all' after-market now is that the deeper pocket on the rears is done by 'no one' - I'm quite sure. I haven't seen the deep pockets for quite some time. I have one set of FactoryReproductions with deep pockets @ 50mm, a set of someones with the larger machined lip I think with 50mm and deep pockets but nearly everything I've seen recently has a pocket that matches the fronts.
A ZR-1 with 11's on the rear without the 'deep pocket' just looks odd. |
